Instrument TEE

Instrument tees are designed to allow the installation of pressure gauges and other similar instruments without introducing a dead-leg. Manufactured in 316L stainless steel, instrument tees are available with either clamp or weld ends.

Description

An instrument tee is a type of pipe fitting that is designed for use in process control and instrumentation systems. It is a three-way fitting that has one inlet and two outlets, with the two outlets typically having smaller diameters than the inlet. The purpose of an instrument tee is to provide a means of installing and connecting instruments and gauges into a process piping system.

Instrument tees are commonly used in applications where it is necessary to install pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and other instrumentation devices into a process piping system. The smaller outlets of the tee allow for the installation of the instrumentation devices, while the larger inlet provides a connection to the main process piping.

Instrument tees are available in a range of materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and various alloys, and they can be found in a range of sizes and thicknesses to suit different applications. The material and size of the tee must be selected based on the specific requirements of the system, including the temperature and pressure of the fluid or gas being transported, as well as the environmental conditions in which the system operates.

In addition to standard instrument tees, there are also various specialized types of instrument tees available, such as compact instrument tees, which have a more compact design for use in tight spaces, and manifold tees, which have multiple outlets for the installation of multiple instruments.
